When the days become shorter, we get less natural sunlight and thus spend more time indoors breathing less-than-fresh air.
Consequently, seeing we experience a few flurries yesterday, winter may be closer then we think!
Many of us are afflicted by what is often called "the
winter blues." The blues are characterized by a general malaise and
feeling of low energy. This usually causes many people to engage in less
physical activity and soon, the blues spiral into general sloth and
depression.
The good news is that your body has a natural
antidote for this minor inconvenience. The magic antidote is your own,
natural, super powerful endorphins. Endorphins are hormones that bind to
opiate receptors and are found mainly in the brain. And nothing is more
perfectly suited for you than your own, natural hormones. They make you
feel great and they don't hurt you in any way.
More good news:
One of the easiest ways to get your body to release large doses of
endorphins into your system is by engaging in intense workouts. I'm not talking about a 10 minute walk on the treadmill or a 5 minute free weights workout with a 25 minute chat in between sets. I'm talking intense......
Fast paced walk on the tread mill at a fair incline....and when using free weights or gym equipment reduce your rest time between sets, get your heart pumping and your muscles working.
Please do not try jumping in the lake if you have never swam before ....PLEASE, consult your physician or a certified fitness trainer on your starting program. For people that do work out and know their body this is a good time to step it up when your outdoor activity level may be less frequent.
Lets not forget keeping your body active and fit is great....just don't forget about the mental workouts that are also needed for a complete and health frame of mind. These go hand in hand and one should not out perform the other.
Just my two cents on this topic, hope it was helpful and gets you to the goal you are setting for yourself with a new year quickly approaching......
Blessings,
Shawn

The Original Source of Omega 3....Marine Phytoplankton
Would you like to increase your energy and inner strength with a few
drops a day?
Marine Phytoplankton is a supercharged, ocean-based micro algae that is raw, live, and thus enzyme active.
It contains every known mineral and all amino acids that our bodies need for optimum health. Phytoplankton is the original source of Omega 3′s and is more powerful than any fish/flax oil you can find.
Scientist and researcher Jacques Cousteau was the first to crack this code when he said "The future of nutrition was in the ocean". Marine Phytoplankton is in fact at the very bottom of the entire worlds food chain.
Some benefits noticed by those using this Marine Phytoplankton as a daily superfood supplement are.......
Enhanced brain function
Improved immune function
Antiviral/anti fungal/antibacterial effects
Improved cellular repair
Radiation protection
Detoxification support
Anti-inflammatory support
Antioxidant support
Improved circulation
Improved heart function
Allergy/asthma relief
Suppression of symptoms stemming from degenerative disease
and a residual grounding energy overall
This unique super-nutrient from the ocean provides the body with instant usable energy. The Omega 3 fatty acids found in hemp, flax, and chia seeds are Alpha-linolenic acid. These types of Essential Fatty Acids need to be converted in our bodies via a multi-step process before we can utilize and benefit from them. With marine phytoplankton, the Omega 3 fatty acids are immediately usable in the body. All those benefits and no digestive work. The nutrition is delivered right into our blood stream in seconds.
If you were to put a droper of Ocean’s Alive Marine Phytoplankton in a glass of water, you would realize just how much chlorophyll is in this superfood. The benefits of chlorophyll are numerous. For starters, chlorophyll detoxifies the blood, liver and digestive tract, it increases oxygen intake, and fuels muscles for higher performance, endurance, and recovery.
As our food sources become more and more chemically created our attention needs to be focused on nature and what it provides in its natural state. Think about what you are putting into your bodies each day my friends....you truly are what you eat.
Blessings,
Shawn Murphy

Apple Cider Vinegar...It's many uses
Another great household product that I found to have more then one great application, some information that I found.
1. Apple cider vinegar is a completely natural product. It is made
from apple juice and is fermented to hard apple cider. It is then
fermented a second time to apple cider vinegar. When using natural apple
cider vinegar, we instantly decrease the consumption of unnatural
chemicals in our homes and daily lives.
2.
Apple cider vinegar can be used as a rinse for your hair after
shampooing, and will aid in increased body and shine. I recommend
recycling an old shampoo bottle, then filling it with 1/2 a tablespoon
of apple cider vinegar and a cup of cold water. Pour the solution
through your hair after shampooing several times a week for dramatic
results.
3. Natural apple cider vinegar regulates the PH
of your skin. Dilute apple cider vinegar with two parts water, and
spread the concoction over your face with a cotton ball to replace your
current toner. You can do this at night after washing, and in the
morning before you apply your moisturizer. A dab of apple cider vinegar
can also be left on the skin overnight to fade age spots or acne scars.
It
is also a recommended agent for warts. For warts, soak a cotton ball in
apple cider vinegar, then fasten the cotton ball over the wart with a
Band-Aid overnight. The skin may swell some as it reacts with the
solution. However, the wart will fall off. Once it falls off, the
treatment should be continued for a few more days, to make sure the wart
doesn't return.
4. Apple cider vinegar can help remove stains from teeth. Rub teeth directly with apple cider vinegar, and rinse out with water.
5. Add a cup of apple cider vinegar to your bath, and soak for 10 minutes to eliminate discomfort from sunburn.
6.
Apple Cider vinegar can be used as a natural aftershave. Fill a bottle
with equal parts apple cider vinegar and water, and shake before
applying to the face.
7. Rubbing apple cider vinegar on your hands and feet will give massage-like benefits and relief to tired hands and feet.
8. Apple cider vinegar can aid in Weight loss
For daily weight management, add 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to
16 ounces of water. This concoction can be sipped throughout the day.
Data shows some limited, yet significant, weight loss benefits from
sustained daily intake of acetic acid (which is a main ingredient in
apple cider vinegar).
In a 2009 study published in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry,
it was found that subjects that consumed acetic acid for 12 weeks
experienced significant declines in body weight, abdominal fat, waist
circumference and triglycerides. Triglycerides contribute to the bad
cholesterol that we want to avoid.
9. Apple
cider Vinegar will balance your entire inner body system. The body
constantly strives to achieve a state of equilibrium. Apple cider
vinegar helps the body maintain a healthy alkaline pH level. Research
shows that higher acid levels (lower pH level) leads to a lack of energy
and higher incidences of infection. Hence, my desire to sip some a few
times a day for a natural boost of energy.
10.
As part of balancing the body's pH, apple cider vinegar creates an
overall detoxification of the body. Research shows that it can help
stimulate cardiovascular circulation and help detoxify the liver.
11.
This miracle vinegar helps to break up mucous throughout the body and
cleanse the lymph nodes. Believe it or not, research suggests that apple
cider vinegar can help with allergies because of its ability to reduce
mucous and sinus congestion. When reducing the effects of allergies, it
can also help stave off sinus infections and their related symptoms
(sore throats and headaches).
12. This vinegar
is rich in natural enzymes that can help rid your body of candida --
yeasts that are attributed to thrush in humans. Candida also is blamed
for creating symptoms of fatigue, poor memory, sugar cravings, and yeast
infections.
13. Though it might seem like an
oxymoron to treat stomach acid with an acid-containing vinegar, there is
research suggesting that apple cider vinegar works by correcting low
acid, hence reducing heartburn. Natural remedy experts say you should
begin to feel relief very shortly after taking a teaspoon of apple cider
vinegar followed by a glass of water. Note that apple cider vinegar
will not give relief if you have an ulcer.
14.
The use of apple cider vinegar is effective in repelling fleas on your
pets. One part vinegar and one part water can be sprayed on your pets
fur and rubbed in generously to the skin. Saturate the entire coat, and
continue every day for a few days to a week. Any flea infestation will
surely be gone.
15. Apple cider vinegar will
clean your toilets and have your bathroom smelling like apples! Just
pour apple cider vinegar into the toilet, and allow it to sit overnight.
It can also be used in dishwashers as a substitute for dish detergent.
Mix 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup water, and you can use
this solution to clean microwaves, kitchen surfaces, windows, glasses
and mirrors, too.
Hope you found another great use for this amazing product.........
Blessings.

Chaga the real "Magic Mushroom"
The chaga mushroom is well known for its full spectrum of immune
stimulating phytochemicals. It is also high in betulin or betulinic acid
which is a chemotherapeutic agent, which is why the pharmaceutical
industry is interested in it and is currently doing many tests on it’s
constituents.
Chaga is best consumed in its natural state as a tea tonic that has had time to brew between 4-6 hours on its original brew, but can be used until all the nutritional value has been removed from the brew, (usually several brews).
The chaga fungus grows from the birch tree and has the highest ORAC value of any substance ever tested on THE PLANET.
ORAC = Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, measured in units of antioxidants, developed by the National Institute on Aging in the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The ORAC value of Chaga is 35,000 compared to spinach which is 1,260 or blueberries which are 9,160. Goji Berries are close with 25,000 on the ORAC scale.
Benefits of drinking Chaga Tonic include:
Chaga also contains Sterols and Triterpenes including lanosterol (a tetracyclic triterpene derivative), inotodiol (triterpene alcohol), and ergosterol (a Vitamin D precursor).
These help support digestion, help detoxification, and may help maintain respiratory health. Germanium, which helps support the health of your blood. Melanin, which enhances the appearance of hair, skin and eyes, and helps maintain a more youthful appearance.
Important Nucleosides, minerals and amino acids, Saponin, Magnesium, Chromium, Iron, Kalium, Beta-glucan, Inotodiol, Isoprenoid and others, all offering tremendous health benefits.

Moving to the next level
Over the past few years I have been slowing diving into a lifestyle that benefits me both physically and mentally.
My consumption of books ranging from Spirituality, Holistic Medicine, The power of the Mind, Nutrition, The Law of Attraction....and the list goes on, has assisted in transformed me into the person I am today.
True..... I am seen as a little different, someone that marches to his own drummer.... and you know what?
I like being seen in that light, let me take a quote from the one and only Arnold Schwarzenegger "The worst thing I could be, is the same as everybody else. I'd hate that!
And so would I.......
You see we can all jump on the band wagon of what is popular, what is trendy, what is seen from society as the right direction, but for me I see life as MY journey!
My journey consists of.........
Living a life that is loving.
Living a life that is non judge-mental.
Living a life that is beneficial to ME but also improves the lives of others.
Living a life that includes healthy eating.
Living a life that includes obtaining the best physical health I can achieve.
Living a life that includes giving thanks to my higher power.
And everything else that falls under these umbrellas.
So in moving forward I intend on blogging all the information I find on these topics for those that share these common interests.
Some say "knowledge is power"....I see it a little different, I see "Applied knowledge as power". I can read all the books ever printed, but if I fail to apply them to my life I am simply just understanding the principles of what I have just read.
Sharing what I learn allows me to help others gain that information......but also pushes me to go to that next level and apply it to my life. So together lets make a difference in each others lives, lets take an active role in moving forward in a positive direction and becoming a better person in the process.
I look forward to this journey and the lessons to be learned......
Feel free to post your comments and views, for this is an open form, this is just my view point, my opinion, I am also looking for the answers...and as my wife tells me, I have been wrong once or twice....
Blessings, and thank you for taking part.

What is my direction in life?
What is your calling in life....?
What makes you happy.....?
What is your purpose for being here......?
What am I meant to do with my life........?
Are these questions that you have considered or felt a need to have answered? If your answer is YES you are far from alone, this age old issue has plagued humanity since the dawn of time, and will continue to do so.
So how do we solve this dilemma? Where do we go to find the answers to these and so many others questions we have?
We have an innate ability in life of creating much bigger.... more in depth problems of issues that we face each day then need be, Why? The answer... EGO. This simple 3 letter word holds more power over humanity then any nuclear weapon, dictator, or maximum security prison. So often referred to as an acronym for Edging God Out, the ego survives on fear, distrust, quilt, anger and all other emotions that breathe a negative vibration. Is the ego something we learn to live with and simply push to one side when it raises its ugly head, or do we simply try to chop it off! So many well versed experts have discussed this issue and the consensus seems to be split down the middle, my two cents...we chop the head off and say so long.
Step three is best stated by Eckhart Tolle "Giving is better than receiving because giving starts the receiving process.” You see long term abundance is only acquired through the act of giving first. Giving with a pure heart is giving with no intention of receiving anything in return.
I know this isn’t a four point course in finding your bliss in life, it’s not a 1,2,3, type of process, but it’s not a complex one either, unless you create one. Yes for most of us it is a struggle and a long process, and some never do find that elusive BLISS of life, but the process is part of the journey and the success you feel at the end.Remember the journey is just as important as the end result.
For some this final step may be the biggest challenge, for it involves being in alignment with God, yes I said it GOD! I normally never preach religion or faith but this process from my perspective does involve a higher power, our creator. For me it is GOD. When we are back in alignment with a creator, a place we originated from we are open to receive, and only then will our true path in life be revealed.
Again this is my option from the books I have consumed and the videos I have watched over the past 15 years of looking for my bliss. Have I found it? Well it’s still a work in progress, but I can state the place that I stand today feels much better and in alignment with my purpose in life then ever before.
Blessings,
Shawn Murphy

So many well versed experts have discussed this issue and the consensus seems to be split down the middle, my two cents...we chop the head off and say so long.
My reasoning coincides with a man much better versed on this topic then me Mr. Wayne Dyer. Mr. Dyer states “Very early in life EGO tells us that we are separate from everyone else….directly contradicting Spirit, which reminds us that we share the same life force with everyone.” He goes on to state “Knowing that we have been created in the image of our creator, and therefore have the same essence and ultimate potential, means that EGO is out of the picture!! EGO denies our original invisible reality, so it must be removed and completely banished from our awareness.” Strong words, but I feel encapsulates the power EGO has and the importance to remove EGO from ones life.
So we stay away from all forms of negativity, we banish EGO from our awareness, what next ….do we slay the dragons of medieval times? I know this seems like a mighty tall mountain to climb but all things come with time and patience…..and no you’re not finished yet!
“Not what we have But what we enjoy, constitutes our abundance.” (Epicurus) When we associate material wealth with abundance we fall back into the trap of EGO, so as Epicurus states abundance is found in what we enjoy, our passion our bliss in life.
I know this isn’t a four point course in finding your bliss in life, it’s not a 1,2,3, type of process, but it’s not a complex one either, unless you create one.
